Wow! Very nice work.
Where'd you get all these? Kits?
Who's your supplier.
Those are very nice tops, and the side woods are cool too.
Please, give it up, where'd the stuff come from? :)
Bob

Not kits.
Scratch built from material from various vendors.
These are #6,7&8 with 4 coats of vinyl sealer sprayed on.
I posted the first 5 builds on the old forum and know everyone likes pictures plus, I don't mind showing off a little.

Yeah, looking really great. Are you making those necks too?
I see you like bearclaw, that one on the sycamore is awesome.

I made two of the necks the other one is a Martin with the diamond volute.
The mango guitar neck is a stacked heel, the sycamore is laminated.
I like the laminated one better and will use them on my next builds.
The bearclaw tops are cool, they are hard to buy online because the bearclaw generally does not show up well on bare wood.
The bearclaw on the sycamore really popped out after spraying, the bearclaw on the koa fiddle is not near as nice but, I can't afford to cull it after paying for it.
There aren't any local sources for tonewood near me so, Most of my wood comes from Ebay.
This one Darren?

Wow! I'd say you've been busy! Those sure look nice.

I must admit I'm partial to Sycamore. Growing up, we had a huge sycamore tree in my dad's yard that was planted by my great, grand-mother. It was hit by lightning 10-15 years ago and my dad had to cut it down as it threatened to fall on the house. I sure wish I had some of the wood from that tree. It gone now. Also, after I was born my dad planted a sycamore tree on the other side of the yard the same day I came home from the hospital. My grandad had two huge sycamore trees in his front yard as well.

Did you color or stain the sycamore or was it naturally that red? It sure is beautiful.

On the bear claw tops, did you use shellac or just vinyl sealer on the top before you sprayed the finish? Any color at all appliead to the top? Just curious if the sealer alone set the figure in the bear claw off that much. I have some nice silking in the top I'm about to finish and I've wondered how well it will show under finish.

Thanks for sharing the pictures!
