I am using some rosewood as a bridge plate on a build.

It is .125 inch thick. Is this too thick?

Thanks

Thanks.

So rosewood is a suitable replacement for the maple?

I don't like it.
Osage orange and Locust are some of my favorite. Brazilian Rosewood is good , Maple is also good , I hate East Indian for a bridge plate.

Concur with John on the EIR for bridge plate. Two of my favorites are Padauk and Honduran Rosewood. That aside I generally use Maple at approximately .100".

Sorry, probably I missed something, but why hate EIR for this purpose?

I guess I have to admit I cannot tell what bridgeplate a guitar has by playing or listening.
Is it the amateur in me?

Forgive my critical tone, It is the long day I had.

EIR can be soft and wear prematurely. EIR grain is usually coarser than maple.
