bending Ziricote

Post by Blake Dixon »

Any ideas of temp for the bending machine and thickness of sides for a cut away Ziricote?

Hey Blake,
An acquaintance built a couple of ziricote steel string guitars. The only info I have is that he took the back and sides down to .095 before bending. I emailed him asking for any experiences he had with the wood. I'll let you know what he tells me. The only info I have now is that he took the back and sides down to .095 before bending. He built a curly maple neck which mates beautifully with the ziricote. The photo below is in the white.
