Super clean brace notches with KMG binding jig

Post by deadedith »

This works well, is quick and easy. The bit provided for cutting binding channels happens to work just right for brace notches.
Pic to show notch only - I lay the rim flat before drawing it into the bit.

I'm not skilled enough to cut notchs for bracing in linings for braces on a router table. I mark areas to be cut using top or back. Join marks with a straight edge. Then using two stiff slats across the rims I use a dremel mounted in it's router base. When using reversed lining you get a very clean joint.

I also use that dremel method. Both work just fine.
