Hello,
I'm currently working on my 3rd build, an OM with a redwood top. Unfortunately, I ran into a few issues with the installation of the rosette and I'm afraid I may have thinned the top too much. The top thickness is .085". Is this still a viable option, or should I find another use for this top? I'm still new at this so any help anyone can provide me is appreciated. Thanks!

If this were classical ok but steel string , this is way too light. I do Red and cedar tops .135 I use a deflection test and start here. Seldom do I go under .125

Thank you John.
On a side note I'd like to say that the knowledge you, and the other members of this forum have shared, has been invaluable in building my first two guitars.

Concur with both John and Anthony. Substance is just what John Hall provides. I know some of it is part of the business model but John goes FAR,FAR beyond that. I look around and see all the things he has done in terms of instruction material and I suspect he must be triplets or at least twins. Hats off to you John.
