Bolt on necks and age.

I was looking at the guitar I built for my daughter almost 2 years ago and noticed it had high action. Examining the guitar I noticed the heel lifted slightly. No big deal I loosened the strings, tightened the bolts and everything went back to normal. It also gave me the opportunity to clean it up and change the strings.

I am sure that the neck loosened from shrinkage of the neck block from either environmental conditions or as it aged. My question: is this normal behavior for a guitar with a bolt on neck?, fixed with semi regular maintenance?

Thanks for any insight.

John: Have never had this problem. You could use bellville cup washers if it is persistant.

yes
this is very common with the bolt on necks. Even with compression washers.
