I wonder where this thin plastic piece is supposed to be fitted?
Under the bridge? For dampening?

Probably for making dots in the fingerboardside or a scratchstick for earitches.

Is it round or flat? If round, my guess is side dot material. If flat, my guess is shim stock.

I said the same thing, "what the heck is that?", so I asked John one day after finding one just like it in my kit, he explained that it is side dot material....Yes Herman they do indeed make nice ear scratchers!
