Hi all.

Another newbie question regarding the intersection of the xbraces.

What is the best way to seal the interection at the top of the x-brace once it is glued down?

I have seen where someone used small pieces of wood and titebond to seal that top area.

Thanks for the advice.

Hi there,

I try to make the joint as tight as possible and then glue on another piece of spruce bracewood using whatever glue I was using before. Has worked out ok so far.

the only thing I can add is that not to make the joint so tight it will deflect. If the joint goes together is just a light rub that is perfect

I failed to do anything to the joint before I closed the box. But it is easily accessible though the sound hole.

I it really mandatory that the opening at the top of the intersection be sealed up?

usually they are . A cotton patch will do the job. This helps support the joint

Cloth would work. I just wet it with titebond and it should conform to the joint.

Thanks again John.
