Hey folks, been lurking for a couple of days and found lots of tips. I'm working on a Martin 000-18 from Blues Creek Guitars. John's been a great help. Below are the latest pictures showing the binding that I installed this week. That's a spot of blood from my finger next to the rosette - I guess this things a part of me now.

Looking good. I like a red tint to my sound boards. I have signed each and every one with DNA. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum. Nice box!

I had some of John's blood and some of my blood on my last one. Unfortunately it sanded out.

Hi James,
Good to see your post and welcome.

Tell us more about the guitar you are building.

Guy Clark is one of my favorite songwriters. He builds guitars and gives them to friends, I don't think he sells them. I read somewhere when he finishes a guitar he pricks his thumb and puts a print on the inside of the soundboard. He puts as much soul in his guitars as he does his songs.

Check out:

If you click on the Photos section of his website you'll see some pictures taken in his workshop. I like the styling of his headstocks. It reminds me of Southwest Native American motif.
