Gluing the dovetail joint
When you have a good fit on a dovetail joint, how much glue do you need? Do you need to glue just the dovetail where it fits into the neck block or do you also need to put glue on the part of the neck that touches the body of the guitar?

I usually use Titebond and spread a thin coat using my ultra high tech glue spreader (read:finger) on the dovetail joint. Some sets require you to put some on the body. Of course you'll be gluing the tongue at the same time, Yes?

Normally you glue the neck on after the body and neck have been finished, or at least I do, so only apply glue to the dovetail and of course the fingerboard.
