Rosette

Post by Ben-Had »

Has anybody ever done a wood rosette with an abalone strip down the middle instead of a strip on each side? If not, how do you guys think it would look?

I have not done one, but they look great! Someone on this forum recently posted a pic of this type that they are using. I like how they look.

Rick - what was your binding? It looks thicker than 'normal' and I like it a lot.

What is the rosette made of? The wood has a shimmer to it and it is really nice.

This is the one I think Tony is referring to. All I've got right now is an under construction photo:

bw/peruvian walnut/zipflex/peruvian walnut/wb, in a redwood top. (yes, the zipflex is not centered in the rosette on purpose)

Is "peal" a typo? If not, what is it?
