At the last minute I decided to inlay my son's initials into the heel cap of my Martin guitar kit. AS you already know, the initials are very small and quite intricate. I've completely followed John's videos for inlaying the fretboard and head stock and have been extremely satisfied with the results. However, with the ivoroid heel cap, what do you use to "Fill" in the areas that have been slightly over-cut. For instance, on the ebony fretboard I was able to use a black sharpie, spray it with accelerator and the CA glue picked up the black to fill in for a perfect fit.
Any similar suggestions for the white ivoroid heel cap?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Inlay question
I think acetone melts the ivoroid. So, you should be able to use soem scrapings and fill the gaps. Add acetone and melt it together.
Hopefully someone who has used ivoroid will chime in, but I am pretty sure it melts with acetone.

Re: Inlay question
I've used acetone and binding shavings to fill holes in the binding on a banjo.
