One month Ditson

Okay, I just got the Ditson back from the gal who bought it; she's an artist and wanted to paint a picture to honor her recently deceased father, who loved Johnny Cash.
I'm going to put a finish on it and string it up for her. She's a lefty who learned to play righty guitars, so that explains the saddle location and the orientation of the picture.

how are you going to finish over that artwork? your typical oil finish?

any concerns about compatibility with the guitar finish and the painting?

I'm going to rattle-can some lacquer on the top. The artiste has experimented with this and it works really well.
As skeptical as I was, I will admit that, in person especially, Johnny looks really fine.

Johnny looks great. It is quite an impressive bit of artwork. So she plays a right handed guitar left handed?

Yep. I had a friend, a good player, who took a right hand guitar, flipped it over and played it left handed. Low E on the bottom string. That's the way he learned and it worked fine for him. Crazy but true. :-)
