Looking good John, but is that some new form of ladder bracing?

I tap tuned all of the fir studs to be as dull as possible and the new ladder bracing is to avoid vibration. If I am successful I can work when I wake up at 5:00AM instead of when my wife wakes up at 9:30 AM.

Progress is continuing. The drywall is going up, the climate control system is in place with the ducts roughed in and the electrical wiring is being strung. This first picture shows the room from the entry way. The two closets toward the back are my spray booth and a closet for the dust extraction system. The insulation is really a sound bat. All of the studs are isolated from the house with a rubber gasket to control vibrations.

The paint booth is small 5 feet by four feet, but I do have a giant fan made For hazardous use and the electrician is going to do the wiring to a code for a paint booth. The hvac guys wanted a fan big enough that the whole shop will be at a negitive presure so that there is no chance that fumes will go to the rest of the house. It is rated for 1 ton of air movement

I am going to install a ClearView dust collections system so I am placing the whole unit in a ventalated closet, to keep the noise down.

This is a look back from the far wall. I am having about 12 feet of cabinets built with lots of drawers low and shelf space higher to go where there is drywall the vacuum and the step ladder is where the cabinets go.

This is a great post. being sick and in and out of the hospital I guess I missed it in the begining...great Job!
I built a new shop...(Didn't' have an OLD one) ha ha...anyway mine is same size as yours going to be interested in how you place everything and use floor space in the end...to me that's a tough one...where to put what...I suppose put what you use the most as close to the bench as possible? don't know o right now it's just kind of scattered out...how to use floor space wisely and then utilize wall space...which comes first the chicken or the egg? (:>)8
I had an existing main roof and two walls put in a drop ceiling and R-30 insulation all around to make it quiet and to fight the 25-30 below temps we experience here in Colorado some times.
Anyway, great Job! Thanks for sharing!

Your shop is looking great. Kind of a random question, but what do you think of that festool shop vac? I'm thinking of getting a 2 gallon one to go along with the new festool sander I just got.

The festool shop vac has been great with lots of use over four or five years now.

After a couple weeks delay, the shop is back on track. The cabinets came in yesterday and they are mostly installed. The floor is in. The walls need to be finished and the electrical and mechanical systems need to be finished. All are roughed in.

I am really excited about the place I made to store necks, bindings and purflings as well as jig building MDF and plywood.
