Goran....I never said anything like that!
Just kidding. Let me know.
mjmeehan, Linda Manzer holds a patent on the wedge body shape for guitars. She is a talented luthier and sought after builder and charges $30,000 or more for one of her guitars. Take a look at her website:
http://www.manzer.com/guitars/
She does some very innovative, creative stuff. Plus, she sells her guitars for $30,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I assume they sound pretty good, though I have never heard one in person, only on the internet.

Re: Manzer kerfing
I failed miserably with plastic clothes pins (kept breaking under the pressure). Wood and #62 and #64 are the way to go.MuddyFox wrote:I very much appreciate the offer Kevin and with Tony previously offering rubber bands I would indeed be all set. But before I even consider shipping clothespins halfway around the world I'm going to check out the plastic ones I can find around here. With some heavy rubberbanding they just may work out.
Either way, I'll be sure to let you guys know.
BTW Tony, I'm seriously considering those #64, nothing of the sort here... :(

I also use these 1" spring clips on straight areas, none side-by-side. At least 3 pins between.

Good enough for Linda, good enough for me. They also work nicely for reversed linings.

Really? Ken said (a few posts up in this thread someplace) that there is a possibility of damage to RR with those...

Learning to get this glued in right can be tricky. Linda builds very high end guitars and is a world known luthier. She know how to make things work for her.

Indeed it is! Linda makes beautiful guitars. I should take a trip to Mandolin Brothers one of these says. I need to find out what a great guitar sounds like. I might not ever own a Manzer, Henderson, or pre-war Martin, but I can defile one with my awful playing!mjmeehan wrote:Ahhh... Big Stuff! Thanks, Tony. Maybe she needs an assistant. Re: Manzer kerfing
For the record, I will also sell a guitar for $30,000........just give me a call and we will go over the options (the options are pretty wide open for the 30K build so we can both keep an open mind) <smile>

Tony when you go to MB's and do your test don't be surprised if you are more impressed with the detailed craftsmanship then the quality of the sound. As for the Pre-war Martins check with Elderly and I bet they tell you 99 of a 100 sold in that price range will be new guitars. $.02
