Mine also rotated on center. To be honest, there was a bit of slop in the setup, and the router was underpowered with only a 1/4 inch bit, so I ended up combining circular and lateral movements - essentially wiggling the dish under the router. It did make the process more “interesting.”
If I had a million dollars and the motivation, I would have bought a bigger router and some nice wide smoothing bits. But the radius dish does not have to be extremely precise, and I filled in the irregularities with spackle. I suspect they will work just as well.
