chrysophylax wrote:Like I said, I can't get Duco or any kind of similar glue here, that's the problem. I have to use either superglue or acetone. In the best case I can get some kind of automotive glue that bind plastic to metal, but I don't think it would be good for wood to plastic gluing.

If I use CA - do I have to apply shellac INSIDE binding channel? or just around it

The one i found in Europe and which works very well for me is: Ruderer L530

Go to www.ruderer.de

If youre interested I can look up where I found it --probably ebay
Good Luck

Can't order up from ebay or any other similar site because I don't have PayPal, but I'll search for this glue here, maybe it's available in some specialized shop..thanks

Duco is a nitrocellulose 'model airplane' cement, and if you have access to a merchant who sells wooden model airplanes, I think you might obtain European equivalents, such as a German product 'Uhu Hart',Uhu being the manufacturer, Hart being the product.

I'm not sure what the policy is regarding PayPal and banking where you live/Bank but my primary PayPal account is linked to a bank account...no credit card required.

There is UHU brand glues here - I actually used UHU CA for gluing binding on my instrument. Next time I'll look for UHU Hart, thanks.

PayPal account needs to be associated with credit card in Croatia (I already tried to connect it with bank account but it wouldn't let me), and since I'm unemployed I can't have credit card thus PayPal is not an option for me.

Check with a shoe repair shop and see which cement they use for plastic shoe soles. Test the one which has the strongest smell...ie is made with acetone/toluene type solvent on a scrap of the plate, side and binding.
