I like CA and sanding dust to fill small gaps around DARK wood, and, I have used it to adhere side purflings to the binding before bending as I have experienced some delaminating when bending when I used LMI glue for this. Now I'm bending on an iron, and perhaps if bending in a machine with the support of steel slats, that is not an issue.

Wow, John, bad deal with the lacquer adhesion. I used a shellac and tru oil finish over mine. Hopefully I don't run into the same issue.

For best results on a finish my best advice is to follow the manufacturers advice . Chemical compatibility is something that you need to consider

Many of us that have been doing it a while have learned just how important this one piece of advice can be . Early I believed shellac to be a good finish sealer , and it can be but with some lacquers , it isn't . Once I started using the manufacturers advice my finish appearance got better and it keeps that just finished look.
If you are doing this to make money , EYE APPEAL is BUY APPEAL . Most often the guitars that sell the fastest for me have High Gloss body , headplates and satin neck.
