It makes the pegs turn smoother and hold better. I know it seems like opposites but it does seem to work.

Never glue in the strap pin. That should be pulled when you travel with the guitar. You havn't lived till you see your guitar split from tail to neck . That pin is a wedge and when dropped will split a guitar like firewood
