Nice color varitation in that back...it will be another beauty Ken.
I finally managed to build up a little tonewood stash....alot for me.
Two sets of Claro Walnut, a cherry set, maple set, and an EIR set.
That will keep me busy for the next 5 years.
I am still hoping my son-in-law will surprise me in June with some sets of EIR. I've
been trying to get him moving on it, but I guess it is not easy to actually purchase it in India,
and for sure just a few sets. We shall see.

Can't wait to see this next git develop Ken.

Hey Tony, thanks. Marginal? Tough to compare from pictures. I can hide a lot of blems in the photos I post!! This spalted wood is crazy to look at, but I have more gaps at spots in my bindings simply due to this wood being so crumbly and unwilling to leave a really clean edge when cut. I have satisfied my curiousity and hope to never build with spalted wood for a long time! So in addition to Brz RW, you can have all the spalted woods!

David, see, you pitch to your wife that you need some koa. Then you tell her that you could either just buy some wood here in the states mail order or take her to Hawaii with you to pick some out. I'll bet she'll go for the latter!

Kevin, 90% of the IT staff at my 'paying' job are from India. I have put some feelers out for wood, but to date, no one has brought me back a 2"x10"x36" quartersawn board :) ! I'll poke away at the Koa L-00 while I work on my nephew's thinline tele. I have a lot going on over the next several months so progress will be slow. You spraying again this week?

No spraying this week I'm afraid. Rain predicted all week and into the weekend.
I need to make an OM mold, so I'll get that done this Saturday and start planning the walnut/koa OM that is next.

Got her strung up tonight. Spent the afternoon installing the neck, leveling and crowning the frets, making a nut and saddle, and dialing in the action. She sounded really stiff when first strung up. The bass E and A strings made a tunk sound when fretted, but after playing her for an hour or so, the bottom end was showing some improvement. Very pleased with the neck. It is dead, solid flat. I have a moderately low action now, but my nut slots are still a hair high. I'll wait a few weeks until I really dial her in. Quite happy with how she turned out. I'll be very happy as long she continues to open up.

No pics, Kevin. I didn't really have time, and Monday I had to drop it off at work where it will be through April. My hope is to bring it home on the weekends, so maybe I can shoot some pics this weekend. It is a real gem, probably the nicest one I have made yet. I met a guitar buddy Monday for lunch so he could check it out before I dropped it off. He immediately fell in love with it and wanted to write me a check for it on the spot! I wouldn't give him a price, so right now, it is still mine!

Well...that would be me giving myself more credit than I deserve for my guitars.
