Thank you both....I found the referenced video and will review it just now. It looks like a great video.
I'm enjoying learning and this project is helping me get through the meds.....It's proven to be good for the head and the body. I needed something to focus on.
The guitar is coming out nicely all in all, not perfect but pretty good. I wish i hadn't made these beginner errors but that's expected.
I know the next one will be even better thanks to all the help.
Fitting neck to acoustic guitar...is there a layout product like Dykem for metal that can be used on wood?

Hey, totally get what you're going through. Neck fitting can be one of those deceptively tricky steps. You know what you’re aiming for conceptually, and that’s already half the battle.
There’s actually a couple of things you can try that work well on wood. Chalk works surprisingly well. Rub a bit on the guitar side, fit the neck, and you’ll see exactly where the contact happens. Lipstick also does the trick. Some folks even use dry pigment powder with a little dab of oil on one surface, just enough to mark the high spots.
I’ve had that same moment of doubt fitting necks on my own guitars, especially the PRS-style builds I’ve been working on lately. One of them had me test-fitting ten times before the joint finally snapped in place like it belonged there all along. Patience wins.
Keep going, you’re almost there. Once that neck fits just right, it’s magic.
