Re: Acoustic bass
John the finish is gorgeous
I can see, never thought about it, that those tuners stick out so far. I just replaced tuners on an Alvarez acoustic bass few weeks ago and he had a gig bag for it.
Anyway your bass looks grand.
Merry Christmas too
Kevin

That’s one fine looking instrument, John. The mutenye with the tortoise shell is a great looking combo. And yes, finish is gorgeous!

Re: Acoustic bass
This bass guitar looks very much like one that I made a few years back. It was a converted dreadnaught, and it fits into a standard dreadnaught hard case.
Here's the write-up:

I played it for a while, but then built (from a kit) a Hofner-style "Beatle Bass"... a short-scale semi-hollow body with a violin contour. The write-up of that project is somewhere else on the site.
