Well, here's the other thing too I guess. He has been planning this for 7 years so he has done a lot of research into it and has it in his mind how he wants it. So if we build it my way and he doesn't like it it's my fault, if I build it his way and he doesn't like it it's his fault. This we have agreed upon.Darryl Young wrote:Interesting. Not sure I could do that. (meaning no problem having them tell me what kind of sound they want......but since I'm the builder, I would want to decide how best to get that sound). Of course, a lot of my enjoyment in building is making wood selections, and making design tweaks to see how it affects tone. Also, if it's a friend and you're working together that's different as well. So, never mind <smile>

Curious. If you build it his way and it doesn't sound to good......will you still put your name on it?

Well I bent the sides yesterday. Thicknessed to .070. Bent them in my usual fashion (other than their thickness) and they bent without any problems. Very, very little spring back, almost none. All in all nothing to worry about. Neck and tail blocks are glued in and drying over night.
