I just got a Taylor in today to trouble shoot why it's having fret buzz. In doing so I discovered the bridge is pulling way up off of the top, and I need to reglue it. As I've done a number of these, I've always done bridges with bridge pins, but never have I had to reglue a bridge with out pins. With that said, what is the best way for keeping the bridge from skating around? I'm sure I can fathom something up, but is there a jig/tool that makes it quick and easy? The store I work at will purchase any of the tools I need so I might as well think it up now...
Does the KMG bridge setter work on bridges without pins??
Thanks,
Dan

Re: How to reglue pinless acoustic bridge.
The KMG bridge setter relies on you drilling holes once you use it to place the location. I am making a guitar with a pinless bridge. I used a luthiertool centerline finder to square the bridge to the neck and a ruler to place the bridge in the correct location. Once set, I drilled two 1/16" holes in the saddle. When I glue the bridge I will use the correct size brad or upside down drill bits in these holes to hold the bridge in while I glue it to the body.
With classical bridges that are pinless, I have also built up a lip of several layers of blue tape on the body around the bridge. The tape provides enough of a lip to hold the bridge in place while clamping.

I am just going to drill small holes in the saddle slot prior to taking the bridge all of the way off for relocating. As far as the location, it's already set, so I don't really need the KMG, but if it worked for pinless I'd have bought it for a double bonus.
