Spray adhesive

I am about to cut out a wood ring for a rosette. The ring is several pieces glued together and is not big enough to encompass the entire circle therefore I cannot drill a hole for the center pin. Im thinking of using spray adhesive to hold it steady while I cut it with a dremel and SM circle cutter. It is delicate and I'm concerned that it will break when I dislodge it. Is there a light tack or temporary adhesive or something that someone could suggest?

you can glue this to a thin wood backing with the show side glued down. then you cut the rosette out using the backer.

Alain,
Use some spray adhesive, like 3M and glue some paper to a flat board with it, then use the spray adhesive to glue your rosette material to the paper. Drill your center hole in the board, and cut your rosette. When done you can use a putty knife to slide under the paper (not under the rosette) and lift the rosette off. Be sure to cut all the way through the rosette into the board a little bit.
That is how I do it and it has worked great every time.
