Ditson ready for bridge and nut

Woody, we are neck-and-neck (so to speak) on our Ditson's! My bridge is going on today, and the nut being finished, so perhaps on Tuesday we can do synchronized stringing? :-)
I see that you popped for Kluson-style tuners, good choice.

My wife is having aged parent issues, so I may have to go out of town. Synchronized stringing will have to wait.

Looking really good Woody. Nice vintage look on that headstock...you guys are brave. I'm ascared (like that?) to try and do a slothead, but I guess I'll have to when I do my nylon string cross over OM.

Kevin, the slot head is a challenge and not something a kit builder like me was ready for. I'm not sure if I'll do one again. I will build another 12 fret but with a paddle head instead of a slot head.I wish there was a tutorial for doing the slot head.

After my first slothead - the red oak guitar - I knew I had to do something different if I was going to do another, to take the uncertainty out of it. So on this Ditson, I build a little jig that worked out much better. I'll leave it someone else to do a tutorial, though. I do like the look and vibe of the slothead.

OK OK I'll get a tutor out there --- none the less even though we do the slotting and the shaping I agree the ramps (some guys make those squared) and all the drilling is a challenge. Clearing the veneer from the slots is best done with a router and flush cut laminate bit -- all can be done with hand tools -- but for sure it takes time to get every thing symmetrical. Looks like both you guys did a fine job!
