I'm not convinced all that much sound comes from the sides, unless they are light enough to move with the top. It is simply a lamination between the side reinforcement braces where the hole is located. All other parts of the sides are single layers.
Just polished up the body and neck, have to do some extra coats of truoil on head stock....sanded too agressively in one spot. Also.....DO NOT USE CA ACTIVATOR on water-based lacquer. It leaves witness marks all the way through all coats. Anyway, will string her up by wednesday/Thursday of this week, and we'll see how she sounds!

that bracing has been around a while. Tom Humphries used it also .
