I’m also retired (3 years), but various home improvement projects have diverted a lot of my time. Those are winding down, so perhaps I can get more luthier stuff done. My wife watches a lot of HGTV and keeps getting ideas. Ha!

Do stuff NOW!!! The years creep up, and life doesn't have a 'reset' button. Too soon we don't feel safe climbing ladders and the joints object to working near the floor.

Junk the TV.

By the way
I took this apart and reworked the dovetail joint. Got it tight again, and I was off center with the butt end so I adjusted that and got it all hunky dorry!

I may work the neck shaft a bit. I can slim up the curve at the heel and make a better transition at the headstock. My tail gut on the tail piece after stretching is too long, no more adjustment so I ordered a shorter one. I also got lighter gauge strings for it, think I'll like that better. Then I still need to wire up the jack and volume/tone control to the pickup and mount it to the underside of the pick guard.

I'll not string it up again until the finish is on. Next spring.

looks like I have at least 10 days ahead of mostly sunny, high 60's to high 70's days so I'm going to set up the spray booth probably tomorrow and start spraying my archtop and the OM that is just about finished.

I have the archtop masked off. I have to spray some of the amber under the fretboard extension and on the top under the extension before gluing the neck on.
I'll do that, attach the neck and then complete the finish work.
I'm doing a sunburst.....my first. I think ive settled on a 3 color burst. Amber, tobacco brown and black.
I have cherry red but I think I'll have too much trouble with the fading with that color, plus I really like the 3 color guitars I've seen. So that's what I'm going to try for.

The OM is getting a clear gloss lacquer job like I usually do.
My screws are arriving Wednesday for the fretboard extension but in reality I can go ahead and spray the guitar since I do it neck off anyway.

Onward!!!
