French Polish Over Tru Oil

Anyone have experience of using Shellac over Tru oil on an acoustic?
I have finished my acoustic with TRu Oil on the back and sides--Lovely sheen and looks great--but I',m a little worried about things I've read regarding tru oil finish not being as hard wearing as poly or nitro and was wondering if I should now rub in a few coats of Shellac over the tru oil to give it an extra layer of protection
I have applied Shellac to the top using the french polishing method and it looks great so I happy enough with that.
Any info would be most welcome and a very Happy Christmas to all here.
