Trueing up the rim in preparation to install the lining. Made sure everything was nice and level before and after prepping.

Here's the rim with the linings installed. 15' radius for the back.

The entire surface of the top side of the rim is sanded flat. The neck block end of the fixture is then tilted up and a 1.3 degree slope is sanded on the neck block and upper bout to accommodate the neck angle.

P.S. I brought the stupid date setting on the camera, well, up to date.

That looks really nice David. Tell me more about this guitar. What's that wood? Is it a j-185?

Excellent David! Isn't that jig just the easiest way to get the right angle? I use it too.

Thanks, the wood is white oak, the figure is kinda wormy looking. The style is OO-14 fret.

That is some pretty wood. And that jig is cool also. Did you build it or buy it? And if you bought it, where from? One more question. how did you determine how high to set the neck block to get the angle you needed? Looking forward to seeing more progress on this one.

Oops I just realized this is an extension of your build blog. I haven't been around for a while. I like the white oak. I can't wait to see how this guitar turns out.

I installed the anti-split braces to the side of the rim.

Beautiful work!
Glad you're out of the recliner. Thought about you last week when we went by the I-10/I-12 split returning from a visit with our daughter in Acadiana.
