Here be a 00 me is makin (yes, I just dropped a padmaism on your asses :P)The top is redwood reclaimed from a california frat house hot tub, the back and sides are "reject" mahogany, and the braces are QS sitka spruce recycled from a crate that my dads new bandsaw came in. The back braces are mahogany recycled from another crate that the table saw came in. Ready for pore filling (egg whites) and then water based lacquer. Now I have to make a trussrod (why waste money buying one?) so I can make my neck.

A week and a half from starting this, it is now sanded to 220 and ready for pore filling.

Burn it with fire! or nuke it from orbit! It's the only way to be sure (those stains look... suspicious!)

only because you didn't master the dovetail ( poke) ( poke)
I just pulled a neck off a late 1800's parlor that was a different joint that I have yet to see. I will post that in the repair thread in a few days . Any joint will work if it holds the stress of the load .

my first 2 were Dovetail. They came out good, but I don't see any advantage over a bolt on.
