This is what it is supposed to look like. There is binding on the outside edge of the sound hole plus some additional ebony framing the outside edge of the “comma” shaped sound hole.

That will be one tough mitre joint to make, but I'm sure you're going to nail it. What a project.

Finished making the "comma" sound hole surround piece in ebony.
Actually made the piece out of MDF first as a template.
Wanted to find any problems ahead of time, see how it looked and make adjustments.

Man this whole project is amazing. And the design so beautiful. Someday...

But my initial project has been stalled awhile because, well, life. So it'll be some time before I feel like I could take on something this complex.

Glued in the top binding today as well as the ebony sound hole surround and inside edge piece.
Need to slope and cap the outside edge of the sound hole surround and then the dreaded arm bezel cap.
Coming along but very fussy work. Not sure how Ben makes any money making these things.
