Re: My first Classical guitar
Heel slotted for the sides. I used a 7 1/4" thin kerfed circular saw blade in my table saw to cut these which come out at about .079". Perfect size for sides. Very easy way to do this too. Thanks Robbie!

The headstock is routed out and drilled for tuners. This method works really well, the drill stock bit in the drill press.
If you have a jig for drilling the tuner holes, it makes slick work of that process too.

Re: My first Classical guitar
There is still some filing to do around the headstock where my design has a nice flat shape. A round bit doesn't do right angles well.
This picture shows the area on the top end of the heel block relieved the depth of the top using a router and then a chisel. The top here fits over the sides that are let into the heel block.

Heel is pre shaped, extra cut off the neck width, inside heel block area is shaped, sanded and sealed. Ready for the sides.

Re: My first Classical guitar
FINALLY last night I got the sides bent for this guitar. It went well, no issues. The second side I rushed a bit taking it out of the bender and got a little spring back right away but they are clamped in the mold and fit great. By the end of the weekend I hope to have the end block glued and the sides attached to the neck. I am so slow!!!!
