Slow progress, but I do have the kerfing in and the rims sanded ready for glueing the back and top. The braces are now carved and done on the back, and I joined the top plates last weekend.
Won't be in the shop today. More pictures tomorrow!

Finally got some shop time today. I got the back glued to the rims. Used the Go-bar deck to clamp that up
And I got a rosette inlaid in the top. I'll show you all how I make my wood rosette in thread in Building Proceedures.

Nice leisurely day in the shop today. I got the back trimmed back to the rims with the router and got all the bracing glued to the top.
There is still lots of carving and sanding to do, and hopefully I can work on that part tomorrow. I'll show a pic when the bracing is all done.

I have some curly maple binding I purchased for this guitar, but I also have some solid maple flooring that I want to cut for binding. I can get alot of binding out of what I have, so I may try and cut some and use that. It will be plain quarter sawn binding, so not as fancy, but this is not a fancy guitar.

Kevin,

Is that bridge plate as ginormous as it looks? How thick is it, and what kind of wood? Cocobolo? Is it heavy?

I love that rosette. Beautiful! I'm planning to do a wood rosette for my second guitar and I look forward to your thread on making it.
