Re: Zebrawood SJ
That's pretty much it Phil. The hardest part for me was keeping the pieces a consistent thickness, but it really wasn't that difficult. I think it's a great way to add detail without adding the cost of pearl.

Re: Zebrawood SJ
Great looking guitar. I really like the look of the radial purfling. I am going to have to try that at some point.

Re: Zebrawood SJ
After taking some time off from building for a while I got back to this. Finished a couple of weeks ago and have played around with it a bit. Sounds a little tight still. I was actually concerned the top was too light but now I'm wondering if maybe I didn't go thin enough or perhaps the bracing is a little heavy. To be honest I thought the braces were light also. I'll give it some more playing time to see if the red spruce warms up any. Here are some pics.

Re: Zebrawood SJ
That looks great SKB. Beautiful work for sure...
I have a set of those OLF SJ plans & have the woods selected, but haven't done much w/ it yet. Soon hopefully? Aust Blkwd B&S & either Carpathian or Italian Spruce for the top. I also have a few necks to select from that I bought from John Watkins when he was churning them out for the OLF.
