I don't have access here in California to near pure distilled grain alcohol
I have a friend who goes to Nevada fairly often so I have him purchase 4 bottles at a time for me to use for French polishing. You might see if anyone you know is heading to Reno or Las Vegas.

I found the last "garden" supply store here in Chico has gallons of 200 proof ethyl and 99% denatured alcohol. Good price too.

I read that California banned denatured alcohol. I assume you can still get ethyl alcohol. I think that works? Maybe it’s too expensive. Just an idea.

The bottled stuff here is only sold at I believe 70%.
Too much water to use for French polish

That's California for you.

Yeah I have a friend in Idaho I asked to bring some but I couldn't wait...they haven't made a trip my way in about 5 years when he came and picked up the Classical I built for him. French polished of course.

Nothing wrong with a random neck pic.

I believe you can get laboratory grade 95% ethyl alcohol on Amazon. Not cheap but you can get it.

I've ordered it from https://www.laballey.com/ out of Texas delivered here in California. Once in a while they have shipping specials that don't include the hazardous material charge.
