My lasy and only build up to now has been a stumac 000 which was gtrat (apart from a tru oil finish - never again). I intend to use a mold for the next one, but it looks like i wont be able to use my homemade spool claps if i do = so how do if fix the back and front onto the rims with enough pressure for it to work.

Thanks

I use my go bar deck but you can drill around the mold and use the spool clamps that way.

Or you can do something like this:

This is not my idea. I make these cauls out of 2 layers of 1/4" plywood with the joints staggered. They are 2 inches wide - one inch bigger and one inch smaller than the outline of the guitar so that I don't have to be real exact in positioning it. The hole in the center is to keep the clamping at the edge and off of the domed section of the top and back.
