Luthier Disk Question
My first guitar will be a 000 Martin kit from Blues Creek Guitar. What size disks will I need for this? I assume I'll need one for the top and a different one for the back. I plan on using a go-bar deck, if that matters.
Thanks,
Ed

Re: Luthier Disk Question
28 for the top, 18 for the back, I think, but get confirmation from Blued Creek.
Don't believe everything you know.

here is a link to how to use them. The key is that the top is not totally radiused . We use it to create that 1 1/2 degree neck angle . here are 2 links to watch that may help

Thanks John. I've watched those videos a couple of times and will watch them a few more times I'm sure.

Re: Luthier Disk Question
I agree that it would be the best if you take 28 for the top, 18 for the back. But if possible, you should go check this again

Re: Luthier Disk Question
So John you do not carry the 18' disks, is that correct? They aren't available in the drop-down menu when I go to order the disks.tippie53 wrote:yupper

You'll want a 28' disk and a 15' disk. Not an 18' disk.mnmusic wrote:My first guitar will be a 000 Martin kit from Blues Creek Guitar. What size disks will I need for this? I assume I'll need one for the top and a different one for the back. I plan on using a go-bar deck, if that matters.

Re: Luthier Disk Question
I got my disks and sandpaper from John today. I was wondering if I should seal the disks with a coat or two of shellac or varnish to keep them in good shape?
