Hello everyone I am getting ready to finish my guitar with lacquer do I need to mask off the fingerboard extension or do I glue the extension on top of the finish? Thank you

I mask it off before finishing. If you don't the finish must be scraped/sanded to bare wood before glue up. I mask an area about 1/16" inside the FB ext. line.

I mask off that area also

I typically do not mask as it makes level sanding and buffing easier.
