Good morning All.
I shaped my nut last night and am waiting for the nut files that you all helped me procure... In the mean time, should I glue down, tack glue or leave the string pressure to hold my nut in position? Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rich

I do not glue it on until I do my final set up.

Thank you Brian for the answer. I will glue it on tonight after one final check of the frets and fret board edge. I wish I could have gotten the nut files sooner. It is all good though, I haven't rushed any step til now so why start. I just pray it plays well.
Sincerely,
Rich

You already know one of the hardest lessons to learn, That one of the best ways to make a big mistake is to rush a process. Patience is a must in this game.

Use a very small ball of glue. The glue on the nut is only there to hold the nut in place when the strings aren't there.
With that said, removing the nut should never be much of an issue. A tap with a very solid material (metals usually) will jar the nut off, with no issues. So don't be too afraid to glue it on, as it should come of easy, when you want it to.
