Brass Inlay

I'm interested in doing some brass inlay but can't find much information about it in the usual places. I have Larry Robinson's book and he has lots of examples of different metals as inlay, but he doesn't go into much detail on how to use it... Is it necessary to finish over it?

I was thinking it may have to be installed below the top of the fretboard/headstock and covered with something like epoxy to resist tarnishing.

Darren,
I use brass in my knifemaking. You will want to put it under finish as it will dull and eventually tarnish, unless you want to be continually polishing it. Should make a beautiful inlay, just put lacquer or a varathane over it.

I will flood with Med Super glue and allow to cure on its own. That dried very clear and buffs nicely
