Stick Shellac
I was looking at one of my rosettes today, thinking that some stick shellac would help fill some gaps here or there that are still visible. I think it's too late for this one, but want to get some for the next time around. Where do you all get this? I'm surprised it is not listed at the usual suppliers. My finishes are either oil varnish or true-oil/danish oil so I don't think the lacquer sticks are appropriate. You can correct me on that point if necessary.
I found this with a web search, don't know if the price is good or not but shipping is free. http://www.musicmedic.com/catalog/produ ... -s100.html
Advice, suppliers, etc welcome. :)

Re: Stick Shellac
is that the same as stick shellac, if not, is it suitable for use with an oil or varnish finish like shellac is?

Oh, sorry Darren, you were looking for shellac, my bad.
I don't know if it is compatible. Good question.
I haven't seen stick shellac.

Re: Stick Shellac
The SM stuff is stick shellac. Works well with any finish I have used it on. If using between coats of finish, clear is usually my choice, if using over a finish Amber often looks better.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....
