Alaskan (yellow) spruce

I'm thinning a top of yellow spruce; I've not worked it before, and was surprised by the very distinct odor.
I also have not felt well for the two days I've been working on the top, and wondering if the dust from this particular yellow spruce may be affecting me whereas other woods does not seem to.
Is anyone else here unusually affected by the stuff?
Thanks
Edit: I meant yellow cedar, of course...
