Isaac : If you are building with a 25.4 scale and about 3.7/8 depth at the neck you should end up removing about .045 or so as John has discribed. Use this as a referance to make sure you are on the right track. It's harder to remove wood to bring back an over set neck then it is to go the other way. I like to start near the board and remove a thin shaving of wood from the cheeks, about 1/2" long, and then use a sanding block made from dead flat wood with adhesive backed abrasive. Work your block favouring the top end of the heel near the board.Be careful not to remove wood from the bottom end of the heel. Count your strokes, then do the same to the other cheek. Check your angle on the guitar and also check alignment with centre line. The undercutting you first talked about is only to make it easier to fit the cheeks to the body with less work. Make sure you have at least 1/8" of the outer edge of the cheeks contacting the body. Hope you can follow this, would be so easy to show you if we were there in person.Good luck and let us know how you make out. Good luck.

Lol, sorry. I had a busy week.
No, you guys helped a lot! I got a perfect fit. I had to take a little more off and then I put a strip of sand paper under it pulled it out a few times and Vala! I just put on my pore filler yesterday and made a spray booth.
