how to join finished neck and body without damage

Post by Alexie42 »

Maybe I'm over thinking it but I'm worried about how I can join a finished neck and body without damaging the body finish. Or, should I join the neck and body and then apply the finish? My project is a D-35 style dred. How do you assemble yours ? Suggestions please!
Thanks,
Darold

I finish my necks separate from the body but I do a neck set before finish

You want to use a fine grit ( 220 or 320 ) for sanding off the heel on the final setting.
