Shimming under/beside the nut?

I have to disagree with the CA . The CA will slow into the pores of the Mahogany , and seal them. They will stand out in the finish process. Wood glue should be fine. That won't seal the pores . I learned this the hard way.

yes of course John, you are right. I was only thinking of the rosewood, but if it gets onto the hog not good.

Yep, good idea
