Need glue

Post by musicman2000 »

What kind of glue do you recommend for my first build? I am ordering some supplies from Blues Creek and could use a suggestion.

Titebond Original. I use LMI instrument glue but it tacks really fast, titebond original will give you a bit more working time especially for binding.

Duco cement for plastic to wood
Titebond Original is ok for most wood joints
fish glue for braces and bridge

Super glue for some repairs

I do not use epoxy for anything on a guitar

I will agree that if you use carbon fiber then you do need epoxy.

Thank you for putting that in layman's terms! I am still learning the jargon. And thank you all for the suggestions. There always seems to be too many options, but I am always after what is most practical for a first-timer.

the one thing I think many of use will agree on , is that the joint integrity is the key. The better the joint , the higher percentage of success.

Not only a better joint but most important, adds greatly to tone and responsiveness.
