Bridge pin hole slotting?

Post by pryde »

Hello,

I have not posted in a while as things have gone pretty smooth so far with my stewmac 000 build. I got the finishing done (true oil) and bridge glued up.

Just wanted to know how folks do bridge pin hole slotting (without buying expensive tools)?

The stewmac kit comes with slotted bridge pins already but the instructions say to also slot the holes (using their tools of course). Thanks for any advice/help. I am getting close!

I use a tiny key hole saw to start the slots, its made by exacto, I got it at the local hobby shop. I finish them with some needle files. Tape some heavy cardboard around the bridge, if you slip its really easy to poke a nice little hole in your top.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....

There are many ways to do this I now use the slotting tools from Stew Mac I think a well worked jig saw blade and rifler files will do as good a job
