I can finally say, the CNC is FINISHED! Its been a jouney.

My circles were okay, but not perfect. It's been driving me nuts knowing it. The inlay and cuts looked good, but I knew they could be great. I had replaced the compression springs on x and y, with heavier springs to correct backlash. I narrowed down the problem to the x-axis and decided to try removing the heavier spring, replacing it with 2 lighter springs put together, to increase the tension on the screw without over compensating. This was the ticket

As you can see, I'm cutting true circles and squares. It sounds ridiculous, but getting these 2 things to cut true is key to an accurate machine that does the outstanding work that you expect from a cnc.

John, I know next to nothing about bits! Any information about cnc use, programming, bits, is appreciated.

Hi Diane,
I have not been following this forum.and do not know of your involvement with a CNC machine. It is a learning experience !
No problem from here on out.
How about Cad CNC software now?
What do you need?

Hi Brian,

The CAM software is great and I've no problems. I've got to learn CAD, so I can do 3D milling for bridges and necks.
