Brand?

Anyone know where to get a custom brand made to burn my name into the back strip like early Martins or Wayne Henderson? Seems easier and classier than a sticker covering the wood through the soundhole.

I looked around a lot but there were few options for Canadian customers without expensive shipping and brokerage. I found one at Lee Valley Tools which was pretty simple, but it looks like they don't list it any more. It works fine but it is a little tricky to get it lined up square, and to get it even on the slightly rounded surface of the back strip. I am now doing the brand on the back strip (or a small piece of back strip) before I glue it in. And it is almost too big for ukuleles, but you could put it directly on the back, or the neck block. Here is a link to one source I found, and there are others if you look, some quite elegant looking (like Wayne Henderson's):

There are a ton of them on Etsy.com.

Here is one of many. Just search "custom wood branding iron" in the site. Also, in the filter, you can specify the shop location; by default it's set on "anywhere". There's a place to check united States. But you can put a custom location, like Canada.

They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so scroll through shop photos. I've thought of doing something similar on the neck block.

I got one on Ebay. Seller was in China, so it took about a month to receive. Solid, machined brass. 4cm X 4cm. This is just for the actual stamp and screw/threaded hole to attach it to a handle or iron of your choice.
